Hi. I just built my new PC (all parts is new) and when I've played few games, I have noticed thatall of themhave micro fps drops. I have 240hz monitor, and in the games I had about 120-240 fps, but sometimes it is just dropping like to 0 fps for one moment and the Frametime is going to be x10 higher.

After making some investigations, I think that's because of my i5-14500.
(it's not throttled by the way)

Here's some videos:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4kLiODfOu-w
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4R8xLVgGRJk

PC Specs:
GPU: RTX 4060
CPU: I5-14500
MB: ASRock B760 Pro RS (with the latest BIOS v.11.01)
RAM: 32GB Kingston Fury DDR5-5600 (4800)
SSD: Samsung 990 Evo 1TB M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4/5.0 x2 (latest firmware)
PSU: Seasonic B12-BC-650 650 W
Monitor: Samsung Odyssey G4 S25BG40
OS: Windows 10

Here's what I tried to do:
1. Install the latest Nvidia and Intel drivers
2. Turn off/on V-sync and G-sync
3. Change XMP profiles in the BIOS
4. Turn on via different HDMI and DP cables
5. Set the FPS limit to 120 instead of 240 that the monitor supports
6. Disable energy-efficient cores and C-cores energy-saving support
7. Disable graphics on the processor (although the cables were always connected to an external video card)
8. Enable/disable Rebar in the BIOS
9. Turn on/off Adaptive sync on the monitor
10. Used Process Lasso to increase game prioritization and overall system efficiency.
11. Turned off virtualization on the processor
12. We monitored the temperatures of the processor and video card (the processor never exceeded 53° and the video card never exceeded 72°, i.e. there was no throttling)
13. Set MSI priorities for the video card through a program called MSI Utility v3.
14. Updated the network driver (because the latency in LatencyMon was too high)
15. Changed the cache for shaders to 10GB
16. Performed a clean driver installation via DDU.
17. Disabled Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling in Windows 11.
18. Reinstalled Windows (11 and 10, currently using 10).
19. Tested the RAM with MemTest86: 0 errors.
20. Updated the BIOS to the latest version.
21. Undervolted GPU (no performance changes but it's became less loud)

Here is the screenshot from AIDA after testing the RAM:

Hello Darceyo,

Thank you for posting in Intel community Forum.

For me to further check this, please help provide the following details:

  1. Are you using default BIOS settings?
  2. No overclocking done on this system?
  3. What are the games that you played?
  4. Performance of the game and/or FPS is usually handled of the Graphics controller. Have you tried to report this issue to NVIDIA?

If you have questions, please let us know. Thank you.

Best regards,

1. Yes
2. No overclocking
3.Hell Let Loose,Terraria, Minecraft,Velocidrone,eFootball
4. Yes, I’ve reported, but can my i5-14500 bottleneck my RTX 4060?

I mean I have a pretty good temperatures, there's no thing that will even give a sign of a problem.

Hello Darceyo,

Thank you for for the update.

Regarding your question if there is a bottleneck with your Processor and Graphics Controller.

I checked the Specifications and the processor can support PCI Gen 4 and the Graphics Controller is PCI Gen 4 so there should be no problem.

As for the motherboard, it has 1 PCIe 5.0 x16, 1 PCIe 4.0 x16, 1 PCIe 3.0 x16 base on their website. Did you install your RTX 4060 on the PCIe Gen 4 slot? If yes, there should be no problem also.

Regarding the slot information, you may contact the manufacturer of your board and NVDIA for the micro stutters if your configuration is correct.

If you have questions, please let us know. Thank you.
